Wide field astrophotography picture off the Milky Way Galaxy as it rose above Sutherland in August 2018. Sutherland has the darkest skies in South Africa and is the perfect place to photograph the Milky Way. It is also the coldest place in South Africa and this photo was taken outside at -3 degrees Celsius. Mars is the large orange dot that can be seen to the left of the Milkyway Core.
